The 12-year-old daughter of Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) legislator Rohit Pawar’s personal assistant was found dead under suspicious circumstances at Baramati in Maharashtra’s Pune district on Sunday, news agency PTI reported, quoting officials.
The deceased was the daughter of Pawar’s PA, Ajit Dashavatare, they said. Police have launched an investigation into the case and are examining the circumstances surrounding the girl’s death from all possible angles.
According to sources, the girl had a minor argument with her mother over some issue before leaving her home in anger on Saturday. The exact issue over which the argument took place was not immediately known.
After the girl left the house, her family waited for her to return. However, when she did not come back, her family became concerned and approached the police. A complaint was subsequently lodged with the police regarding the girl’s absence.
The girl’s body was found near her residence in the Sainagar area of Rui village in Baramati Tehsil on Sunday morning, as per the police. Following the discovery, the police were alerted and personnel rushed to the spot.
The police began their initial investigation after reaching the spot and examined the circumstances in which the girl was found. The circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body were considered suspicious, following which the police began looking into the sequence of events leading up to her death.
Police examine all angles as probe into girl’s death continues
Police officials are examining the events preceding the girl’s death, including her departure from home on Saturday and the circumstances under which she was later found near her residence. Officials said the investigation was being conducted from all possible angles.
The body was subsequently sent to the Baramati Government Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examination. The cause of death was not immediately available, and the post-mortem examination forms part of the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the girl’s death.
“The police have launched an investigation into the case and are examining all possible angles,” a senior official said.
The police have not disclosed any further details about the circumstances of the death as the investigation is underway.
Officials have not yet shared further information regarding the case, and details are awaited.
