Sharing the update from his X handle, Ambassador Gor said the talks highlighted common strategic goals and a clear intent on both sides to deepen cooperation.

US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor on Saturday met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to discuss ways to deepen cooperation between the United States and the state across several key sectors.

The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral engagement in areas such as trade, investment, technology, manufacturing, energy, health and the entertainment industry. Both sides highlighted the growing importance of Maharashtra as a major economic hub and a gateway for global partnerships.

Sharing details of the interaction from his X handle, Ambassador Gor said the discussions reflected shared strategic priorities and a strong willingness to work together. He described the meeting as productive and expressed optimism about future collaboration.

“Today, I had a fantastic meeting with @CMOMaharashtra @Dev_Fadnavis! We discussed our shared strategic priorities to strengthen the bilateral relationship between the United States and Maharashtra across key sectors including trade and investment, entertainment, technology, manufacturing, energy, and health. So much we can do together!,” he wrote on X.

Earlier in the day, CM Fadnavis also shared some picture from his X handle, stating that the duo discussed wide variety of subjects.

“Honoured and happy to welcome HE Sergio Gor, US Ambassador to India, at my official residence in Mumbai. CG Michael Schreuder too joined him. We engaged in a very productive discussion on expanding and deepening cooperation between Maharashtra and the US,” he wrote in a post on X.

“We also discussed wide variety of subjects including boosting US investments in Maharashtra and companies from Maharashtra increasing their footprint in the US. I shared about some of our flagship and strategic initiatives including Navi Mumbai International Edu city. Both sides agreed to work more closely to deepen US–Maharashtra partnership. @USAmbIndia #Maharashtra #UnitedStates,” he added.

Maharashtra, home to India’s financial capital Mumbai, plays a central role in attracting foreign investment and driving industrial growth.
