Parliament Budget Session 2026 Live: PM Modi To Address Lok Sabha At 5 PM Today

Budget Session Parliament 2026 Live: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to address the Lok Sabha at 5 pm on Wednesday as tensions persist between the government and opposition benches amid the ongoing Budget Session.

Disruptions continued in the lower house on Tuesday, resulting in the suspension of seven Congress MPs and one CPI(M) member for the remainder of the Budget session, which runs until April 2. The lawmakers were penalised for disorderly conduct that included attempting to climb onto the secretary general’s table, tearing documents and throwing papers toward the Chair. Earlier, Question Hour was disrupted by sustained sloganeering from opposition members.

Proceedings in the Lok Sabha were adjourned multiple times after BJP MPs objected to Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi raising the issue of China during the debate on the motion of thanks to the President’s address.

For the second consecutive day, Gandhi was barred from quoting an article that referenced an unpublished “memoir” by former Army chief M M Naravane concerning the 2020 India-China standoff. In response, Gandhi wrote to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, registering a strong protest and calling the restriction on his remarks on a matter of national security “a blot on our democracy.”

Meanwhile, the Rajya Sabha witnessed discussions on the proposed India-US trade agreement, during which opposition members accused the government of failing to address issues affecting common man. Follow for live updates.
