Speaking at the launch, Jaishankar said the BRICS logo reflects the colours of all member countries. He noted that the design symbolises unity and equal representation within the grouping, highlighting the shared identity of the BRICS nations.
The External Affairs Minister outlined the four pillars that will guide BRICS during India’s term. These are resilience, innovation, cooperation and sustainability. He said these pillars reflect the priorities of the grouping in addressing global and regional challenges.
Jaishankar said BRICS remains an important forum for engagement, dialogue and cooperation. He stressed that regular interaction among member countries helps strengthen understanding and coordination on key issues.
He added that cooperation among BRICS members can help address shared challenges faced by developing and emerging economies. According to him, working together allows countries to find collective solutions in an uncertain global environment.
India assumed the BRICS chairmanship on January 1, taking over from Brazil. As chair, India will host the 18th BRICS Summit later this year, marking an important phase in the grouping’s ongoing work and engagement.
