As many as 15,05,037 students from across the state will appear for the Class 12 Higher Secondary Certificate board examination starting from Tuesday. The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education will conduct the exam across nine divisions — Pune, Nagpur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Mumbai, Kolhapur, Amravati, Nashik, Latur and Konkan. Of the over 15 lakh students, 7,68,967 students are from science stream, 3,80,410 are from arts, 3,19,439 are from commerce, 31,735 are from the vocational stream, and 4,486 are from ITI stream. While 8,10,348 are male students, 6,94,652 are female and 37 are transgender students who will be appearing for the exam. The exam will be conducted at 3,373 exam centres and will have students from 10,550 colleges. In Pune district, 2,58,034 students will be appearing for the exam, which includes 1,40,221 male, 1,17,807 female, and six transgender students.
