INTERNET SERVICES have been suspended and prohibitory orders were issued in the Mothabari area and surrounding areas of West Bengal’s Malda following clashes between two communities on Thursday. A large contingent of police personnel has been posted in the area and 34 people have been arrested so far, police said. Prohibitory orders have been imposed in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar city in view of the agitations against Aurangzeb’s tomb and to maintain law and order during the upcoming festivals, officials said on Monday. Police Commissioner Pravin Pawar has imposed the prohibitory orders, to be in force from March 25 to April 8, an official said. Notably, several right-wing organisations have been demanding the removal of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb’s tomb located at Khultabad in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district. Prohibitory orders in Cyberabad in view of SSC examinations

In view of the upcoming Secondary School Certificate examination, the Cyberabad Commissionerate has issued prohibitory orders against assembly of five or more individuals within a 200-metre radius of all examination centres. Additionally, all photocopy and Internet centres located within a 100-metre radius of the venues will also remain closed during the period of examination. The order issued by Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty to maintain public order and prevent any disturbances around examination centres will be in force from 6 a.m. on March 21 to 6 p.m. on April 4. Exemptions from the order have been granted to police officers, military personnel, home guards and the flying squad from the education department, along with funeral processions. The Cyberabad Police have cautioned that any violation of these restrictions will lead to prosecution. A case was registered against seven persons and other unidentified people for the incident that happened while prohibitory orders were in force in the district in view of festivities and upcoming Republic Day celebrations. Behadi station house officer (SHO) Sanjay Tomar said that more than 20 people were offering namaz in a tin shed on a plot in Jam Sawant Shumali village without permission. Police were acting on a complaint by an office-bearer of Hindu Jagran Sena, a local right-wing outfit. In a move to ensure smooth conduct of the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) Group-III examinations scheduled for November 17 and 18, Rachakonda Police Commissioner G. Sudheer Babu has issued prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the BNSS (earlier Section 144 of the CrPC). The orders prohibit any kind of assembly of persons within a 200-metre radius of all examination centres in the Rachakonda limits, said the Commissioner . This restriction is in place to maintain public order and peace during the examination period. The Commissionerate urged people to cooperate with the police and adhere to the prohibitory orders.
