Telangana government has launched the ‘AI Readiness and Digital Safety Programme’ for 80,000 students studying in institutions run by the Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (TMREIS).

The programme, a collaboration between the Telangana government, Doxa Consulting Private Limited (DCPL) and MASK NextGen Inc, will be rolled out across 205 TMREIS residential schools from August 15. The initiative would be implemented at zero cost to the government, with funding and execution supported through a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)-based partnership.

Minorities Welfare Minister Mohammed Azharuddin said the programme was designed to ensure that students from minority communities are not left behind in the rapidly evolving technology landscape.

“Our mission is to ensure that no talent is left behind. By embedding AI and digital literacy at the school level, we are empowering our youth to not just participate in but lead the technology revolution that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy envisions for Telangana,” he said.

The curriculum, developed by MASK NextGen, will be delivered through a gamified, self-paced digital platform comprising 24 interactive learning modules and three assessments. It aims to provide students with foundational knowledge of artificial intelligence and digital safety, while also improving English communication, leadership skills and awareness of gender equality, diversity and inclusion, said Avni Trivedi, founder and CEO of MASK NextGen.

Joseph Christopher, founder and CEO of DCPL, which is the MASK NextGen’s global partner, said the programme will provide minority students access to future-focused AI education and digital safety training.
