A day after the counting of votes in the Tamil Nadu Assembly election, focus turned towards government formation as Chandrasekaran Joseph Vijay-led TVK emerged as the single largest party.
As the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) won 108 seats in the 234-member legislative Assembly, lacking a majority.
Vijay has written to Lok Bhavan, staking a claim to form the government. To attain a simple majority, a political party must win at least 118 out of the total 234 constituencies.
