The Bharatiya Janata Party has categorically denied reports that Manohar Dhakad is associated with the party.
A controversial video allegedly showing a couple having sex on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway has gone viral, triggering outrage. The man, identified as Manoharlal Dhakad from Madhya Pradesh’s Mandsaur district, has been sacked from his post as national secretary of the Dhakad Mahasabha following the incident.
The footage, reportedly recorded on May 13, appears to have been taken inside a white car that transport department records confirm is registered in Dhakad’s name.
The Bharatiya Janata Party has categorically denied reports that Dhakad is associated with the party.
“Dhakad is from the village Bani, but he is not a primary member of the BJP,” said Rajesh Dixit, Mandsaur district BJP president. “His wife, Sohan Bai, is a BJP-backed member of the district panchayat representing Ward No. 8. It is not known if Manoharlal has joined the party online.”
Madhya Pradesh police registered a case on Friday against Dhakad and the woman caught the video, reported Times of India. The incident reportedly happened near Mandsaur town in Madhya Pradesh, some 200 km from Indore.
“We received a viral video and took cognisance of it. A case has been filed under BNS sections 296 (obscene acts and songs in public places), 285 (danger or obstruction in a public way or line of navigation), and 3(5) (common intention) against Manohar Dhakad and another individual,” TOI quoted Mandsaur SP Abhishek Anand as saying.
