The Delhi Police on Tuesday arrested a technician at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital (LNJP) based on a complaint of sexual assault.
According to the police, the 19-year-old complainant has allegedly been in a relationship with the accused, who had claimed to be unmarried, for the past few months.
CCTV footage from the government hospital showed the couple moving around the premises together, and investigation revealed there had been extensive communication between the two over phone and social media, the police said.
The young woman reportedly filed the police complaint against the man after coming to know that accused was already married, the police said.
The police have registered a rape case under Section 64 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), said M Harsha Vardhan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Delhi), on Wednesday.
