Delhi Excise Policy Case News Live: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is set to approach the High Court, challenging the Rouse Avenue Court’s order discharging former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and all other accused in the alleged Excise Policy Scam case.
Earlier in the day, the Delhi court discharged former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and all other accused in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) case linked to the alleged Delhi Excise Policy scam.
The court observed that the agency failed to present material sufficient to proceed against them. The order was passed by Special Judge Jitender Singh, who refused to frame charges in the corruption case, discharging all 23 accused persons.
‘IMPLICATED WITHOUT MATERIAL’
The court noted that no prima facie case was made out against the accused and observed significant shortcomings in the prosecution’s case.
While pronouncing the judgment, Arvind Kejriwal had been implicated without any cogent material linking him to the alleged offence.
The court held that it did not find any criminal conspiracy in the case and that the CBI’s allegations “lacked substance”.
