Bigg Boss 18 winner Karan Veer Mehra has finally responded to criticism over the poetry video he posted after the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22. The video showed him reciting a poem written by Ashutosh Rana. He faced backlash for the post, and celebs such as Elvish Yadav and Kushal Tandon took jibes at him, reacting to his post. Now, Karan Veer has responded to the criticism, clarifying the meaning behind the poem. He also strongly condemned the Pahalgam terror attack, and quoted Suniel Shetty’s statement, expressing hat the next holiday would be in Kashmir.
Karan Veer Mehra took to his social media to issue a clarification about the poetry that he recited. He wrote, “An eye for an eye will NOT leave the whole world blind, the last person will still have one eye, & we all know who that last person might be. But the real question is, would YOU rather break the chain of hate and make the world a better place? That’s exactly what my poem meant.”
Karan Veer further added, “My heart goes out to the families of those who lost their loved ones in the Pahalgam attack. May the perpetrators face the strongest punishment they deserve. Karan Veer Mehra’s Post After Pahalgam Terror Attack
In his post, Karan Veer recited a Hindu-Muslim poem authored by actor Ashutosh Rana a few years ago. He began the recitation with, “Baat diya iss dharti ko, Kya chand-sitaaron ka hoga? Nadiyon ko kuch naam diye, behti dharon ka kya hoga?”
The poem talks about how terrorists have divided the nation on the basis of the religion. The Bigg Boss 18 winner continued, “Shiv ki ganga bhi paani hai, aabe zam zam bhi paani hai. Pandit bhi piye Mulla bhi piye, toh paani ka mazhab kya hoga? Ek hai suraj chand hai ek, ek hawa mein saas hai sabki. Toh pucho inn firqa parasto se, kya hawa bhi nahi chalaoge? Naslo ka karein jo batwara, rahbhar woh comb ka dhongi hai. Sawaal toh bas ek hi hai, kya allah ne mandir toda tha ya Ram ne masjid toda tha? Baat diya iss dharti ko. Koi Hindu hai, koi Musalman, koi Sikh toh koi Issai. Bas humne insaan na hone ki hai kasam khayi.”
