A man snatched a woman staffer’s mangalsutra inside a lift at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bhopal on Sunday, police said.
The incident was captured on CCTV, and the video has since gone viral on social media.

According to Misrod Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajneesh Kashyap, the victim, AIIMS employee Rajshree Soni, had entered the lift to go to the fourth floor. A masked man also entered the elevator at the same time.
The viral CCTV video captures the theft in real time. In the clip, the staff member and the masked man are seen inside the lift for over 30 seconds. As soon as the doors opened, the man suddenly snatched her mangalsutra, taking the woman by surprise, and fled immediately.
The CCTV footage is currently under examination, and AIIMS management has been informed about the incident. The police have spoken to the victim and are conducting a search for the culprit.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
