The Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP SP) leader Rohit Pawar has assured supporters that there is no cause for concern after reports about his health prompted calls from well-wishers.
In a post on X on Monday, Pawar said he had been unwell for the past two to three days and was undergoing medical tests to determine whether the illness was due to viral flu or another cause.
Pawar said doctors had advised him to take complete rest instead of ignoring his illness.
However, he added that while he would take as much rest as possible over the next few days, he would continue to fulfil his responsibilities as a public representative.

Pawar thanks his well-wishers
The NCP (SP) leader thanked the many supporters and well-wishers who had contacted him.
He said their concern and good wishes had given him strength and reassured them that there was nothing to worry about.
Rohit Pawar said he would spend the coming days balancing rest with time for his family while continuing to discharge his public responsibilities.
He expressed confidence that he would make a full recovery soon and return to work with renewed energy.
Rohit Pawar seeks freeze on drug inspector recruitment
Meanwhile, earlier, Rohit Pawar had last month sought an immediate halt to the recruitment of 154 drug inspectors in Maharashtra, alleging that questions from the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) screening test had circulated on WhatsApp two days before the examination and matched more than 90 per cent of the actual paper.
Pawar submitted a letter to Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe seeking a freeze on the recruitment process and later approached MPSC Chairman Vivek Bhimanwar with what he described as digital evidence of the alleged leak.
The MPSC, however, contested the allegations. Bhimanwar said a candidate who had complained about the alleged leak subsequently emailed the commission saying the claim had been made “in jest” because a friend had failed the examination and wanted it cancelled. The commission said it would approach the police to investigate the allegations.
Pawar’s claims
Speaking outside the FDA headquarters, Pawar linked the integrity of drug inspector recruitment to public health.
“If an officer buys their way into the Food and Drug Administration for lakhs of rupees, their priority will be recovering that money, not checking spurious drugs. We have seen tragic outcomes like fatal cough syrup incidents — we cannot allow compromised officers into the system,” he said.
Pawar has questioned the circumstances under which the complainant withdrew the allegation and claimed complainants may have been pressured into retracting their statements.
He has sought a forensic examination of the alleged WhatsApp trail to determine when the material was created and circulated, and whether it corresponded with questions that subsequently appeared in the examination.
