RCB vs CSK: Virat Kohli reaches 300 sixes for Royal Challengers Bengaluru | Ipl News

Virat Kohli on Saturday became the first player to score the most number of sixes for a franchise when he reached 300 maximums for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the match against the Chennai Super Kings at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. He is followed by 263 by Chris Gayle for RCB, 262 by Rohit Sharma for MI, 258 by Kieron Pollard for MI and 257 by MS Dhoni for CSK.

In the match, Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni won the toss and chose to bowl first against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their Indian Premier League match.

CSK retained their previous match playing XI for this contest while RCB replaced Josh Hazlewood with Lungi Ngidi.

RCB will look to bolster their standing in the IPL points table while CSK are already out of contention for the playoffs. RCB had beaten CSK by 50 runs in Chennai in their earlier match in the tournament.

Before the match against CSK, Kohli had spoken in JioHotstar’s ’18 calling 18′ show, saying “I would say one team that, historically, I’ve felt we’ve had the most intense games with is Chennai Super Kings in Bengaluru.”

Kohli reckoned that playing CSK in Bengaluru was something else. “Because in Chennai, of course, there are Chennai fans—it’s just yellow and CSK fans everywhere. But to play against CSK in Bengaluru is something else, because a lot of Chennai fans come to Bengaluru. CSK fans travel in huge numbers, so they buy tickets very early and take over a section of the stadium,” he described.

Festive offer

While RCB defeated CSK at Chepauk after many seasons, Kohli said that the rivalry always hot the high notes. “So, there’s an intense atmosphere inside the stadium in Bengaluru when playing against CSK. And then, obviously, the game also gets very intense and competitive. That environment is the most exciting I’ve been a part of,” he said.
