Punjab: Police officer shot dead in Tarn Taran village | Chandigarh News


Sub-Inspector Charanjit Singh was shot dead on Tuesday while responding to a clash between two groups in Kot Mohammad Khan village, under the jurisdiction of Sub-Division Khadoor Sahib in Tarn Taran district.

According to initial reports, a call was received at the police control room about a violent altercation in the village. Sub-Inspector Singh was immediately dispatched to the spot to assess and control the situation.

Upon reaching the location, he came under fire and sustained a bullet injury. He succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

Police have launched an investigation, and forensic teams have been deployed to collect evidence. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend those involved in the shooting.

Senior police officers have reached the village, and security has been tightened in the area to prevent any further escalation.
